NaBloPoMo? Sure, why not?

Once again it is November 1, which means once again NaBloPoMo is here, and once again, I’m thinking of giving it a go. I mean, sure, it’ll be more than I’ve written the entire year if I even come close to posting every day, and sure there’s a solo parenting weekend to account for, and sure we’re traveling for Thanksgiving, but eh, let’s live on the edge! The main reason I’m considering it is because I’ve been wanting a kick in the pants to get me back to writing, so maybe this is it. (And it’s not like I don’t have time on my hands or anything…)

I *have* been wanting to write more lately–I’ve been feeling the itch in a way I haven’t for a while–but something (or several somethings) is holding me back. Maybe because I’m job hunting and Google-able, maybe because I’m being lazy, maybe just because I wonder if anyone even cares anymore. But honestly, I need to get over all those things. I’m a happier, better person when I write the stuff that knocks around in my head. I stress less, worry less, and move past issues faster when I write. I pay more attention to the world around me when I write. So. I really should write. Over-reliance on parenthesis and ellipsis and commas and all.

So, ok, sure, I’ll give it a go. Even though traditionally, November is just truly the second worst month for something like this (December would surely take the top spot in this house), I’ve made it work in the past, and that was when I was working 40 hours a week. I don’t have THAT issue currently, so I’ve got no real excuse. Let’s see what I can do this year.

The only ground rule I’m setting for myself is that I want posts to be more than 400 words–no picture only posts–since the goal is to get back in the habit of writing. SURELY I can handle that (she says as she struggles to get the first post of the month to 400 words). Other than that, we will see what happens, just like every time I try this insanity. (Anyone have anything they want me to write about? I’ll take suggestions!)

Anyone else doing NaBloPoMo (or some variation on the theme)? If so, let me know so I can help support you & you can help support me! Or at least we can commiserate together about being absolutely nuts to try this in November AGAIN. (Aw, we can do it! I know we can!)

I’m reading and I care. I’ll even try to think up some writing suggestions pretty soon???? I’ve really been bummed you don’t write anymore.

Yup, I am doing it. Again. As always. Good luck!

I’m reading! And I’m going to write too! I have to backdate for yesterday because I don’t log onto anything on the weekends (heh, this will be fun) but I’m going to work on it. I can do this! We can do this!

Good luck! How is the job search going?

Yes, keep writing. Miss your blogs. Will try to come up with ideas. Course, always like to hear about Jackson.

I’m participating! Like you, November and December are the worst months at our house, so this is a real challenge.

I can’t promise there won’t be some picture-only posts, but I hope to publish something on my blog every day. I’d really like to get some drafts out of the Drafts Folder 🙂
