This weekend I was sent another Beauty Box 5 to review. As with all of the subscription boxes I get, I really enjoy seeing the box in my mail, and am always excited to see what’s inside.
As a reminder: Beauty Box 5 is a subscription-based, beauty sampling program that delivers a box filled with 5 cosmetic samples to your door every month. It is $12/month, $30/Quarterly, or $99/annually.
So what did November’s box bring?
Secret Clinical Strength deodorant. This was full size, and there was a coupon for another free one. I’ve long been a Secret Clinical Strength fan, and this is the new Invisible Solid, which I believe is coming to stores in January. I like the solid formula, and it definitely held up to the invisible part this weekend when I wore a black velvet sleeveless dress. It may not be glamorous, but I call this one a win.
Body Drench Lip Drench. At first glance, I was a little disappointed in this–I have a zillion lip balms, so getting another one is always a little anti-climactic. However, I really like the formula on this one. I found the scent a little heavy on the fruity flavor (I got Mango), but it definitely felt moisturizing & I found myself reaching for it this weekend over the zillion others I have. Definitely not disappointed now.
Montagne Jeunesse Glacial Cooling Face Mask. I haven’t had a chance to use this yet, but (despite the scary image on the front!) I’ve been wanting to try these. I was pleasantly surprised to see this in the box, and will probably try it tonight while I relax.
Aveeno Positively Nourishing Calming Body Wash. This had a nice scent that wasn’t overpoweringly lavender, though it did have that terrible “creamy” consistency. But overall, a nice body wash and a perfect size for travel.
Bellapierre Cosmetics Shimmer Powder. I got this in a gorgeous silver color, and YES it is shimmery. Gorgeously shimmery. It’s a loose powder, which is always a little dangerous for me, but there is a sifter which is helpful. I’ve used it as a shadow, and it was really pretty. I think it would also be really pretty as a liner. Pretty happy with this goody.
There were also some additional coupons for things like Clump Crusher & razors, which was a nice additional bonus.
All in all, I’m pretty happy with this box. Beauty Box 5 is definitely not as glamorous as some of my other sub boxes might seem, but I’ve been surprisingly satisfied with everything I’ve gotten so far. Some of it is more “functional” than exciting, absolutely (I’m not going to try and convince you that deodorant is thrilling), but so far I’m pleased with these boxes.
*I was sent a box to review, but was not compensated further. All opinions are 100% mine.

This seems like a pretty good deal $-wise…especially given the “staples” that you’d have to buy anyways. I actually would prefer something like this, to more “fun” make-up because I rarely where it, and the color choices very very rarely work for my darker skin tone.

Ooh, I’m pretty excited for that deodorant. I use the clinical strength, but have never been a fan of the soft deodorant stuff.
