How to save money on Cyber Monday (and any other time you’re shopping online)

  1. Swear you are only shopping for other people’s gifts not yourself.
  2. Have a vague, not detailed, list of who you’re buying for.
  3. Have a general idea of categories, but again not detailed items, on WHAT you’ll be buying those people.
  4. Open your browser to the online retailer of your choice.
  5. Begin to browse.
  6. Realize you have no rhyme or reason to how you’re browsing. One minute look for something for your 15 year old sisters, the next for your grandmother, the next for your husband.
  7. Find one AWESOME item–the perfect gift!–only to find out it’s sold out/the deal is over.
  8. Feel vaguely unsatisfied by any of the items you see/deals being offered.
  9. Decide this online store isn’t it, and move on to the next one.
  10. Repeat steps 5-9.
  11. 2.5 hours later, realize you’ve put one item in a shopping cart (but what store was that at again?), and found about 20 things for YOU, but nothing truly suitable for your gift recipients, despite your whirlwind of clicking, opening, looking.
  12. Give up and buy everyone a gift card to their favorite store.

Or is it just me?

As always, you can find more lists every Monday over at ABDPBT!

Ha ha! This is exactly how my shopping goes, except I don’t save any money because I always order something for myself, You know, one for her, two for me.

OMG, I could’ve written this post! Only, I wind up buying last minute gifts that I second guess all the way until the recipient opens the gift and that’s when I assume they’re fake liking it!
