10 reasons I love blogging

Today’s list is brought to you by my love of blogging. I know it’s the sin of all blogging sins to do posts about blogging, but right now I’ve got nothin’ else happy or productive on the brain, and damn it, I’m going to do an upbeat post if it kills me.

So, where was I? Oh yeah, 10 reasons I love blogging:

  1. Seeing comments on things I’ve written or photos I’ve taken makes me feel happy.
  2. Reading other bloggers makes me realize that we all have similar struggles–some folks have it way worse, some way better, but in the end, we all struggle. It’s nice to remember that when I’m in the middle of a poor me, no one can possibly understand how hard it is, I’m the only one whose life is miserable right now moment.
  3. Seeing my traffic go up on a post I was particularly proud of is the kind of ego boost I need occasionally.
  4. Seeing my traffic go down on a post I threw together hastily is a reminder to not suck.
  5. Watching the success of other bloggers is exciting in a slightly voyeuristic way. Seriously, I love to see other bloggers do well.
  6. Seeing other bloggers do well give me ideas of how to do better myself.
  7. Blogging allows me to dream of a different life.
  8. I’ve been able to express myself via words and pictures in ways I never have before. I’m learning to make a connection with the creative side of me.
  9. The community. I’m still new, so I’m still growing those connections, but I love having connections with people from all over thanks to this here series of tubes.
  10. I love that I’ve given myself a voice. It may not be a voice that is ever heard outside a small group of people, but it’s still there.

Oh, and I also love other bloggers lists! To see more, go see Anna:

So tell me, what do you like about blogging?

I think it gets the creative juices flowing. But this NaBloPoMo thing is killing me. I don’t think I have enough juices.

This blogging thing sure is amazing! I have this crazy, extended network through it. I’ve made real life friends (and not just people I see at Blogger meet-ups). And I throw together a silly idea like BlogSecret only to discover about 50 new blogs in the process. It’s awesomeness at its best!

Great post! And congratulations to you on your blogging skills. I am kind of new (7 months, is that new?) too, but I love it. I am doing the NaBloPoMo thing, and surprisingly, it’s not that hard. And I love love love finding out about other people’s lives and routines. And I don’t think it’s really uncool to blog about blogging!

I love that I can write about something and get almost instant feedback. It also forces me to keep some sort of record of who I am now, and it is there just in case I forget who I want to become.

Blogging gives me a chance to remember who I am other than a wife and mom. I did have a life (somewhat) before I became a mommy!

I think you got them all, but in addition to all of that, I love the networking community that blogging has made me a part of. I like socializing, I like reading people’s lives. i love it when people invite me into their lives. It’s a very gracious and humbling experience to know what’s on other people’s minds.

I’m very new to blogging, in fact I still get a little twitch even saying the word. But I admit, I’m really enjoying it.

I like the tiny connections I am making each day.

I love looking at other people’s photos and getting their comments on mine.

And like you said, Ginger, reading other people’s blogs does remind you that despite our varied lives, there are so many commonalities. It helps give some needed perspective at times.

Blogging is an amazing thing. I’m so glad I started and joined the 20SB community. I’ve made such great friends and connections with people all over.

Let’s see . . . I love blogging for all of the reasons you’ve mentioned, as well as being creative every day, whether I like it or not. And owning the means of production. But I’m pretty new as well, so who knows if the love affair will continue . . .

Nice list!
