*I was sent a box to review, but was not compensated further.  All opinions and run-on sentences are 100% mine.

You guys know I love my subscription boxes, all for different reasons. I’m coming to love Beauty Box 5 for being like a reliable old friend who always has an extra headband at the gym or a nail file on hand. It’s filled with stuff I get a LOT of use out of, and this month was no exception.

As a reminder: Beauty Box 5 is a subscription-based, beauty sampling program that delivers a box filled with 5 cosmetic samples to your door every month. It is $12/month, $30/Quarterly, or $99/annually.

This month’s box was, without a doubt, well timed. See, we’re in the middle of 1) winter and yet also 2) a drought here in California, and as such, my skin? Is painfully, ridiculously dry. Like peeling and cracking kind of dry. And this box was FILLED with things to make that better.

Jergen’s Daily Moisture: First up, a longtime favorite that now lives on my desk at work. This is a great everyday lotion, and perfect for me because there’s really not much of a scent. Love this stuff.

Nubar Cuticle & Nail Oil:  I’ve been using this on my cuticles just about every day, and it’s the only thing that is keeping my cuticles from just shredding to bits. I had a little bit of a problem when I first tried it, because the brush was SUPER stiff. But I just went in and sort of broke the bristles apart, and now it’s pretty perfect. It’s got a really pleasant scent, is easy to brush on, and isn’t so greasy I have to avoid doing anything else after I use it. (I also just adore these little tiny bottles. They’re SO CUTE).

These next two, I’ve been using together:

Swissco Bath & Shower Exfoliating Gloves

H2O Plus Spa Sea Body Wash

The first is the Swissco Bath & Shower Exfoliating Gloves. I’ve had some really rough dry dry patches on my legs and elbows, and I’ve been trying these exfoliating gloves there. They’re not overly exfoliat-y, probably about like a standard loofah, but the ease of using them as gloves is a nice bonus. If I did self tanners at all, these would be even more helpful.

The second is the H20+ Spa Sea Lotus Body Wash. It’s a perfectly nice body wash, and the scent, while distinct, doesn’t really bother me too much. That’s about all I can ask for in a body wash.

I also got another lip balm, this one the Epic Blend Hemp Coconut Lip Balm. I haven’t tried this one yet (I seriously have 8 gazillion lip balms, I don’t need to open another one), but I will get to it eventually. You can never have too much lip balm.

There was also a little extra, a mirror compact promoting the movie That Awkward Moment. Which, actually, for a mirror, has some kind of funny possibilities. That Awkward Moment

I, somewhat surprisingly, didn’t have a compact mirror for my purse until I got this one, so I’m actually pretty happy with this. Oh, and as an aside, I want to commend Beauty Box 5 on their shipping. They are the very first sub box I get each month, without fail, and I’ve heard that from other people. Kudos BB5, you win in the race to my front door!

All in all, a good solid (and very well timed, omg so drryyyyyyyy) box. I’m happy with everything I got and have or will get use out of it all. Winner!

If you’re at all interest in Beauty Box 5, right now is the time to sign up: if you subscribe between now and January 31, you’ll get the January box for free! Free stuff is always good, right?
