Beauty Box 5 December 2013 Review

In the midst of all the family plague, my December Beauty Box 5 came in for me to review. I really enjoy being a part of BB5’s blogger review program, but December was a tough month for reviewing anything that wasn’t cough medicine or chapstick. BUT! Now that I’m feeling better I wanted to share my thoughts with you all!

As a reminder: Beauty Box 5 is a subscription-based, beauty sampling program that delivers a box filled with 5 cosmetic samples to your door every month. It is $12/month, $30/Quarterly, or $99/annually.

So what did December bring me? Let’s take a look:

BB5DEC

NYX Cosmetics Love in Rio Eyeshadow Palette (I got Sway in Lola) The colors in the picture make this look way more 1980’s than it was in real life. I actually liked this little palette so much I bought another one as a gift for someone. I love NYX, and this palette is no exception.

Body Drench Hemp Daily Moisturizing Lotion I’ve been pleasantly surprised by this lotion, which now lives in my purse. The smell is nice and fresh (and doesn’t give me a headache! A rarity with scented lotions these days), and it’s not too thick, not too greasy, but also not too watery or insubstantial. I’d never heard of this brand before, but I definitely like what I’ve tried!

Ofra Cosmetics Sultry Lipgloss Plumper I LOVE the color of this lipgloss. It is the perfect berry color for me, and looks great with my skin. Unfortunately, I hate plumping lipglosses, and this one suffers from the same problem. If I can tough out the plumping sensation (bleh), I really do love this lipgloss, but I really wish it came without the plumping ingredients.

Clean & Clear Morning Burst Hydrating Gel Moisturizer I haven’t had a chance to use this yet, but I’m very intrigued by it. I’ve surprised myself by liking the last 2 gel moisturizers I’ve tried, so I’m optimistic about this one as well.

Every Beauty Flexible Foot Smoother And once again, Beauty Box 5 gets me with a super practical item. This is exactly what it sounds like it is, and it works BEAUTIFULLY. I’ve used it both wet and dry, and both ways work really well( though I find myself preferring the dry, but probably only because I’m lazy & that means I don’t have to deal with soaking my feet first). Perfect for dry feet that got a surprise visit by flip flops on Christmas day (San Diego winters man).

Even though I didn’t get all of December to enjoy this month’s box, I’m happy with what I received. It’s nice to see the variety that Beauty Box 5 offers, and every month I find myself liking the service more. I’m looking forward to January too, because I know the boxes are featuring H20+ Body Wash, which is a brand I’ve been interested in trying for some time now (and because I hopefully will be well enough to enjoy the box when I first get it!).

*I was sent a box to review, but was not compensated further.  All opinions are 100% mine.
