2013 To-Do List and Other Intentions

Despite my utter failure in my 2012 list, I’m doing this whole to-do list thing again. I really do like it better than GRAND. MAJOR. RESOLUTIONS. It just seems more realistic for me. But I AM going to be much more reasonable this time (40 things Ginger? REALLY? I’m shaking my head at past me), or at least try.

Of course, beyond the to-do’s I have a sort of theme to build my year around as well.

Last year was the year of ME. Solo. And it was really important, and it is something I’m going to continue to work at. But one year of focusing JUST on me is enough, so this year I want to be the year of ME +. Me + my husband. Me + my kid. Me + my family. Me + friends.

Me. Plus.

That’s my theme for the year. Me Plus. I want to take the things I learned about myself last year and continue to honor and develop those, but also find the balance of keeping myself important along WITH the rest of the world.

That’s the hope anyway. That, and this list of things. So!

  1. Read at least 50 books.
  2. Dye my hair for fun.
  3. Buy a pair of investment boots.
  4. Figure out a storage/organization solution for my bathroom.
  5. Update the blog.
  6. Go to PJ’s at TJ’s.
  7. Do one charitable act/random act of kindness a month.
  8. Go to The Blathering.
  9. Do something with Jackson’s closet.
  10. Learn to paint my nails better.
  11. Revive Reads from Around the Web in some form.
  12. Take a road trip vacation with my family.
  13. Figure out how to place all the furniture in my funky shaped living room to maximize useable space.
  14. Organize photos from the past 2 years.
  15. Have one great meal in New York when I’m there for business (either in February or May)
  16. Do another full month of 30 Day Shred.
  17. Update my passport.
  18. Get a tattoo.
  19. Get family photos done.
  20. Set up a grandparent Skype schedule.
  21. Find a reliable babysitter.
  22. Have a monthly date night with N.C.
  23. Take Jackson to Disneyland.
  24. Write at least 12 letters to Jackson.
  25. Start writing like no one is reading again.

Here’s to a 2013 that is filled with good things, accomplishments, and happy relationships!

Great list! In a few weeks, it might be the best time to get a pair of investment boots. Everything will be on sale and you can get a great designer brand at least for cheaper then.

Great list. Mine is shorter, because I know myself.

Great list! We just had dinner at the cutest little French bistro in NYC – La Carafe. Yummy food and nice people!

How about “meet up with at least one native New Yorker while you’re there on business”? [hint, hint]

Great to-do list! Love the setting a skype schedule with grandparents. We are going to start doing that, now that we will be even further from them.
