So, this is where the reality of Nablopomo really kicks in, this week of Thanksgiving.
This week of family and travel and not anything remotely resembling a normal schedule. Of road trips and hotel rooms and other people’s internet.
WHY is Nablopomo in November again?
I think we can all agree that while I have managed to post every day, it would be a far stretch to say that I have WRITTEN every day. Which means I’m still in compliance with the letter of the law, as it were, but not the spirit. Not much to be done about that I suppose. I’ve committed to this and I want to fulfill my commitment, but at the same time, my brain is in a million different places and very few of them have more focused thoughts than an MTV-edit-video. Not terribly conducive for stretching my writing muscles.
I knew going in that it was going to be this way, which makes me wonder–should I have bothered? Perhaps not, but I’ll soldier on…or at least try…for another 9 days. Assuming I make it out of this week, of course.
Um, seriously. And how about NaNoWriMo? The start of the holidays makes that basically impossible. Couldn’t we bump this shizzle back to September?
I’m a fairly new reader to your blog. I really enjoy your posts. Since I’m a new follower, I don’t have a clue what “NaBloPoMo” is. Would you care to elaborate on it for me? Thanks!
NaBloPoMo stands for National Blog Posting Month, and it’s a challenge to write a blog post every single day in November. They do it in other months with themes, but November is the annual “write/blog for writing/blogging sake”.
I have fun trying to do the challenge every year, but it does seem like November is TERRIBLE timing. 🙂
Thanks, Ginger. Just yesterday I was reading another blog and they mentioned NaBloPoMo also. I may take that challenge next Nevember!
I completely forgot to write something last Saturday. In some ways, it’s nice to not have one more thing to make me feel under pressure. In another way, without some sortof madeup pressure to write, I’m pretty much neglecting my blog again.
