Reads From Around The Web

You’d think that the week before Thanksgiving, people would start phoning in their posts. I’ve got the links that prove otherwise.

First up, over at Becoming Sarah, Sarah shares why toddlers are such disgusting little petri dishes. If you don’t have a kid yet, or your kid isn’t mobile yet, use this as a warning of what awaits you. Gag.

Over at Marriage Confessions, Katie answers some of questions on making it work as a working mom. I always love to see how other moms (whatever acronyms fit you) deal with their days and the logistics/emotional details of being a mom, so this was right up my alley. I particularly love that she outright addresses this question: How can I be a good employee if my kids are sick all the time and I’m always tired?!?!

Next, we have two posts that I feel are related in a lot of ways. Over at Should Be The Beginning, Jessica hits on one my biggest parenting pet peeves with (co-)parenting 101: for better, for worse, for the rest of our lives. As the wife of a VERY involved stay at home dad, it drives me nuts when people assume that he’s not as good or involved a parent as I am by sheer virtue of his being a father, and I love Jessica’s discussion on why valuing both roles of parenthood is important.

Related over at Wandering Scientist, Cloud writes about how she’s not married to a unicorn, discussing how her husband shares in the domestic duties (not just parenting)–and how that doesn’t make him a mythical creature. She then has wonderful followup post on WHY that matters.

And finally, a little light humorous frustration over at blogging with mittens on the crazy indecision of toddlers.

Happy reading folks! If you’ve read anything awesome, share it in the comments!
