Reads From Around the Web

Man, I need to get better about doing these more regularly, if only because they pile up like CRAZY otherwise!

Let’s get to it, shall we?

Over at Extraordinary Mommy, a post that captures that feeling I KNOW I’ve had, and I’m sure we’ve all experienced at least once of feeling like you’re failing at life. It’s one of those posts that had me holding back tears going ME TOO, sister, ME TOO.

On the flip side over at 649.133, Janel shares with us her secret to the question “how do you do it all?” And frankly, it’s the most brilliant (and well utilized in this household) strategy I’ve encountered.

Honestly, Bonnie Stewart’s post the death of purity is one I’ve reread about 5 times, taking something different away each time. I still can’t sum it up in a simple two sentences, so I will just say that she takes the passing of Steve Jobs and looks at it through a lens that both fascinates and somewhat disturbs me. Go read it, and be prepared to engage your brain.

At the (fabulously named) Reading (and chickens) is  a post that I really flat out love. It’s about books, good and bad, and includes a superhero librarian drawing with kicky red boots. I mean, honestly, what’s not to love? Plus, she makes some excellent, wonderful, YES YES YES points, so all you book lovers, get over there right now!

Finally, over at Law-Momma, a topic I constantly struggle with: how on EARTH do you make mommy friends? And as a fellow working mom, I feel her frustration, but I think the post is true for lots of moms, whether they work or stay at home.

Alright folks, go read and enjoy! And, you know, if you’ve read something awesome lately, share it with me! I’m always on the hunt for great reads.

P.S. General question: would you guys prefer to see these posts on a weekday or a weekend? I love doing them (though I clearly suck at doing them on a schedule), but I want to do them when you guys have time to click through and read. So…let me know if you have a preference!

Thanks again! I think I’d prefer weekend–there’s always a blog drought on the weekend and I need something to get me through the Costco trips and soccer games! (But really, either way, not that picky.)

Thank you so much for including me – I’m grateful. And I’m happy to know the post resonated with you…. it was hard to write, but I have felt so much better since then!

Thanks! I’m not sure I’m so brilliant; more like crazy like a (lazy) fox.

I love reading list posts (which is probably no surprise to you, since I do them, too). It doesn’t matter to me when you post them, though- if I don’t have time to read the links when the post first goes up, I just come back to them later.
