Reads from Around the Web

And now, how about a break from the BlogHer madness for a minute? (I know, I know, I’m sorry guys. I even wrote about how it kind of sucks for those not going last year. What can I say, I’ve fallen victim to the prep).

So anyway, as I was saying. It’s been a while since I’ve done a link round up post, and I figured this would be a great time to give everyone some good, non-BH related reads. Plus, some of these are a month old, so I need to share them before it’s too crazy to share them.

Over at Suburban Snapshots: Five Lesser Known Milestones That Will F*ck Your Sh*t Up. It’s the milestones that AREN’T in the baby books…but you should be warned about anyway.

Over at Jive Turkey: Two-Ski. Basically everything I’ve been feeling about toddlers and parenting them in one post. But with great photos.

Over at It’s Hard Being Perfect: Society is not designed for working moms. The title says it all, but (the other) Ginger brings up a lot of my personal frustrations. And there’s a good conversation in the comments too.

Over at Scribblous: Dreaming. Talking about how to encourage your children to dream and reach for the stars when your instincts to try and keep them safe may hinder that.

And finally, over at The Cheeseblog: I Have Seen the Gates of Hell. About a kids birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese. Hysterical and frightening all at the same time.

Happy reading friends!

That working mom post is a good read indeed. I’ve been having the same thoughts for, well, two years now and I need to eventually just put them into words. (Or just link to a post like that, with far better words than I’d come up with!)

Thanks for the shoutout. One of the reasons I enjoy you and your blog so much is because I feel you totally get it. The whole working mom, struggles, raising little boys thing too. 🙂 Looking forward to hanging out more this weekend!
