Today is Mother’s Day. A day to honor our moms and all that they’ve done for us. My mom is in town and we will be spending the day together, celebrating her, celebrating me, celebrating what it is to be a mom.
But Internet, I couldn’t let today pass without some special recognition to the online moms who have made my journey into motherhood that much sweeter–and easier. Not everyone who I interact with online is a mom, but those of you who are? You have become the village that I needed as a new mom, with no local mom friends, and no family nearby to cry out to.
You’re the ones who have sent me suggestions, who have helped me through problems, who have lifted me up when I was struggling. You’re the ones who have laughed with me at the absurd moments while giving me strength through the tough ones.
So to all my online mom friends: Thank You. Today, as I reflect on motherhood, know that I’m honoring ALL the moms I know–the ones related to me and the ones who I chose to surround myself with.
Happy Mother’s Day ladies.

Happy Mother’s Day! Hope you have a great day with your mom and your little guy.
Hope you guys had an awesome Mother’s Day! To this day I credit the internet (and twitter, mostly) for helping me maintain my parenting-related sanity, and I am glad that you are part of that internet. 🙂
Here here!
I feel the same way about the online community of mothers. I’ve made some great friends here, including you! And, I hope you had a wonderful Mother’s Day, even if Jackson was a little challenging, as you alluded to on Twitter.
Hope you had a wonderful Mother’s Day!
