Games to play when the whole family is sick

in Day in the Life

This weekend, the entire family was sick. This was the first time that all three of us were sick at the same time, and let me tell you, it was not fun. So, how’d we pass the time? Well, here are some of the games we played:

  1. Guess whose snot? With all three of us sick, it really was a toss up sometimes. Sadly, there’s no real winner with this one.
  2. Who’s sicker chicken. Which grown up is sicker, thus can get out of dealing with the toddler. Tactics include falling asleep before the other adult, coughing pitifully, moaning lightly when the monitor makes noise, and blowing your nose so that you can’t hear the child whining.
  3. Build a tissue mountain. Who can make the biggest mountain of tissues without it toppling?
  4. Tissue race. Get to the toddler with a tissue before he slimes yet another piece of furniture.
  5. Nutrition slide. Let’s see how fast the family declines from nutritious and well-rounded meals to whatever we have/can be made or picked up or delivered fastest.
  6. TV catchup race. Can we have the toddler watch enough tv to make up for all the missed shows from the limited viewing agenda of the last 17 months? Let’s find out!

Now if you’ll pardon me, it’s back to my deathbed for more fun and games.

That is hilarious. So sorry you are all sick, but at least you still have your sense of humor.

This is equal parts hilarious, gross, and pitiful. I hope you are all feeling better! 🙂

Well, it sounds like a good time was had by all! I came down with something last night, and I have since quarantined myself away to avoid sharing it with my toddler. With my luck, though, she’ll get it at the same time her dad gets it (right around the time I’m feeling better, of course), and I will lose the ‘who’s sicker?’ game soundly.
