Shoulds, needs & wants

There are the shoulds. I should be better about cleaning the house. I should send more photos of Jackson to my family. I should call people more often. I should exercise. I should drink more water. I should be more productive. I should, I should, I should.

There are the need tos. I need to deal with a 401k issue. I need to go to the dentist. I need to cut my spending. I need to find some close toed shoes that fit me. I need to get my eyebrows waxed. I need to pay bills. I need, I need, I need.

There are the want tos. I want to launch my business. I want to write more. I want to take more photos. I want to launch the new website. I want to enjoy San Diego more. I want to clean out our closets. I want to improve RambleRamble. I want to take the swirling ideas in my head and make them happen. I want to play with the baby more. I want to talk to my husband more. I want, I want, I want.

Here’s the thing though. The shoulds make me feel guilty. The need tos make me feel stressed. The want tos make me feel energized.

There’s a lesson in here somewhere.

There definitely is–I’m glad you know what inspires you and what is dross.
