Sometimes I miss

Sometimes I miss:

  • The fun and control of driving stick
  • The energy and entertainment of New York
  • The monsoons & mountains of Arizona
  • The carefree days before babies, husbands and jobs
  • The friendships and camaraderie of college
  • The joy of performing
  • The excitement of teaching choreography when a student GETS it
  • The intellectual stimulation of (some) of my college classes
  • The easy days of high school
  • Playing in sand dunes, irrigation ditches and cotton fields as a kid
  • The metabolism I had during and after Drum Corps
  • House parties in college
  • New York at Christmas
  • The ease of life BEFORE responsibility

Those are missable things, indeed.

You know what I miss? I miss being able to stop on the way home from work to meander without someone calling to say, “Where ARE you?” In other words, I miss have time that’s unaccounted for.

I really, really miss that.

I also miss being in a city.

Ooh, that’s a good one! I have to schedule time to meander now, and that’s just so not the same thing!
