Sometimes I miss:
- The fun and control of driving stick
- The energy and entertainment of New York
- The monsoons & mountains of Arizona
- The carefree days before babies, husbands and jobs
- The friendships and camaraderie of college
- The joy of performing
- The excitement of teaching choreography when a student GETS it
- The intellectual stimulation of (some) of my college classes
- The easy days of high school
- Playing in sand dunes, irrigation ditches and cotton fields as a kid
- The metabolism I had during and after Drum Corps
- House parties in college
- New York at Christmas
- The ease of life BEFORE responsibility
Those are missable things, indeed.
You know what I miss? I miss being able to stop on the way home from work to meander without someone calling to say, “Where ARE you?” In other words, I miss have time that’s unaccounted for.
I really, really miss that.
I also miss being in a city.
Ooh, that’s a good one! I have to schedule time to meander now, and that’s just so not the same thing!
