7 Link Challenge (belated)

Once upon a time, ProBlogger set up a little challenge. The 7 Link Challenge. Which I read about, and mulled over, started and then promptly lost all track of time.

And then a few weeks later, I realized I still hadn’t finished it. So I spent several hours perusing my own archives (and becoming increasingly embarrassed by some of my posts and especially some of my old photos) trying to pick out my favorites. It was tougher than it looked–maybe because I don’t always like my work when some time has passed, or in some cases because I had multiple favorites, but the exercise itself was unique. I think it really helped show me what kind of blogger I actually am, not just who I think I am. I’m not sure what to do with that information yet, but there it is. So, without further adieu:

  • Your first post: My Own Little Space
  • A post you enjoyed writing the most: Today
  • A post which had a great discussion: ControverSunday: The Good and the Bad
  • A post on someone else’s blog that you wish you’d written: I can’t really do this one. Not because there aren’t a million posts by a ton of writers that I wish I’d written, but more because…I don’t keep lists of posts I love and I have a horrible memory lately. There’s that one…that you know…someone wrote about something. Anyway, in general, there are a lot of bloggers I wish I wrote more like, who cover the stuff I love to read. You all know who you are because I stalk you online (it’s done with love and affection, not the creepy kind of stalking. I promise!). Instead, I’m going to link to one of the most touching pieces on childhood/parenthood: Mixed Feelings. I don’t wish I had written it (and I wish it hadn’t had to be written), but it still speaks strongly of love and loss.
  • Your most helpful post: Tips for c-section recovery
  • A post with a title that you are proud of: Signs Your Partner Might be a Douchebag: Childbirth Class Edition
  • A post that you wish more people had read: Before We All Burn (Brooke, don’t read this post)

So, um, there you go. Enjoy. (I’d love to know what all of YOUR 7 links are!).

As always, more lists can be found over at Anna’s at abdpbt!

Man, now I’m all curious! I’ve thought about doing this list too!

Well, you’re actually welcome to read it of course (!!), but it’s about our evacuation and the community losses from the big wildfires here in San Diego about 3 years ago. I find it pretty stressful, so I was thinking it might be doubly (or more) so for you. Of course, the situations are VERY different!

I read it as soon as I left that comment! It actually was really helpful seeing that orange sky. It reminded me that I need to go back and look at pictures when I’m writing about the fire.

I’m so glad you did this! I joined your blog “already in progress,” so I got to read some good old stuff. 🙂 And N.C.’s post was beautiful.

I love your writing. It is very motivating.
