Wonderful Wednesdays

It’s that time of the week again folks–that’s right, it’s Wonderful Wednesday!

This week, I want to try something new for WW. I want to try and turn a few of the things that have been driving me crazy lately on their heads and see if I can find something wonderful in things that have been…not so much.

Like the biting issue. I’ve had a really tough time the last week in particular–after I wrote that post, Jackson actually got worse about the biting, especially while nursing. It’s been tough, to say the least, and painful. So what in the hell could possibly be wonderful about this situation?

Well, it’s wonderful that Jackson has teeth. That sounds silly, but Jackson having teeth makes feeding him a little easier. Which is also wonderful. Plus, as Perpetua pointed out, there may be a correlation between kids who are good eaters & who are biters–and given everything, I’d rather not have to deal with a kid who doesn’t eat. Even if it means I’m a chew toy for the moment (and hopefully it’s just for the moment!).

Then there’s my blog envy. It’s never fun to acknowledge the not so lovely parts of yourself, and jealousy over other bloggers success and talent is definitely not a part of me I’m proud of. So what could be wonderful here?

Well, my bitching about my blog envy forced me to really look at what I’m jealous of and what I’m willing to do about it. Turns out, there’s a lot I’m not willing to do. There’s just some things I don’t want to have to do for the success that some people have.

At the same time, there are some things I’m considering doing now. Facing my jealousy let me look at my own blog a little differently once I was able to look  past the “why not ME” question and actually ask myself, “, why NOT me?”  I’m trying to be proactive and change rather than just wallow in my frustrations.

Look, are these things the most wonderful in the world? No, probably not. But part of my goal with Wonderful Wednesdays is to readjust my outlook at least once a week. These two things really needed some readjustment in my head. Focusing on the positive is hard sometimes (particularly with the biting, that one is really messing with my head), but I’m trying to do it as much as possible. Whenever possible.

So peeps, what’s wonderful on your Wednesday? Let me know in the comments, or if you want to post on your blog, just grab the badge below and let me know and I’ll link you up!

In my wonderful wednesday, I had a job interview! I may or may not get it but I enjoyed it, and it’s a step towards getting a great job.

Positivity is one of things I love in blogs – so I think you do great on that front, which is why I keep reading! 🙂

Tacos are still my wonderful. It sounds lame, but they’re still my saving grace. I’ve also been enjoying sleeping in until 8 or so–the quiet here has been great!

It’s been a particularly busy week at work and on top of that we’re entertaining house guests for the week. I’m exhausted. What’s wonderful about that? My brother is in town for a whole week. It’s an absolute treat to have him around right now and I wouldn’t trade my exhaustion for the world!

I LOVE IT! When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. Right!? 🙂

I sometimes have blog envy, but I agree that you have to figure out what you’re willing to do for that success. For me, writing a book is way bigger than maintaining a blog at this point, so while I write on the blog, if it takes away from the book, then I reconsider my priorities for the day.

I love the idea of taking frustrations and flipping them around! Good for you.
