Welcome to the world little one

Internet, meet Jackson.

8 lbs, 11.5 ozs
21″ long

Totally adorable.

He was born via c-section after 10 hours of unmedicated back labor, and another 7 hours with a blissful epidural. We didn’t end up inducing, instead I went into labor on my own Saturday night. I won’t go into the details, but let me just say that my labor experience? Not so much fun. Anyway, the c-section wasn’t what I had wanted, but it’s where we ended up for a variety of reasons. In the end, all that matters is that he’s here, he’s wonderful, and I’m not pregnant anymore!

We got home from the hospital Wednesday, and are settling into life at home with a newborn and sleep deprivation. N.C. is already amazing with him, which is a godsend because I know I couldn’t handle it all on my own. It’s much easier to handle sleep deprivation with someone else along to help you. And it’s absolutely incredible to watch the man you love be so totally in love with this little person…it puts a new meaning to our marriage to watch him be this awesome father.

But more than anything, I just can’t believe how amazing Jackson is already. Even with the sleep deprivation, and crying, and hormones, he’s the most amazing thing that’s ever happened to me. I kind of can’t believe that he’s here, and we get to keep him! Now I just have to do right by him for the next, oh, 18 years 🙂

Congrats! CONGRATS! Sorry labor was tough, sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you don’t. Enjoy him, and welcome, Jackson!

He is simply lovely! Labor sucks, but as you said, it is so worth it. Glad to hear you are all home safe and sound.

Congratulations!

He is stunning–congrats! I wish you all the joy in the world for the next 18 years(!!) and beyond. Your labor story sounds so much like my SIL’s a month ago. She wanted a home birth, but it just didn’t work out that way in the end, but in both cases, I’m glad your babies are here and happy and healthy!

He’s beautiful! Congrats on the whole experience. Although I do have to say that after a summer of friends having difficult labors and getting c-sections, I am terrified to get pregnant. lol

Congrats and I can’t wait to see more pictures. You two will be wonderful parents!
