I hate being dumb

in I'm a Disaster

This weekend I was dumb. On multiple occasions, actually, which just really kind of sucks since I hate being dumb.

How was I dumb you ask? Let’s see:

  1. Saturday we went to ArtWalk, a big outdoor art festival here in San Diego. It was a beautiful day–temps in the upper 60’s, but sunny with not a cloud in the sky. Perfect for a day at an outdoor festival of any kind. Unless, like me, you forget to put on sunscreen. And then you walk around in this beautiful, not a cloud in the sky day for about 4-5 hours. Without sunscreen or a hat. Wearing a shirt that, after 4-5 hours in the sun with no sunscreen, makes it look like I’m wearing a bright, flaming red collar/necklace. One that REALLY hurts to touch.
  2. On this same Saturday, due to the randomness of the day, I ended up eating a total of twice. Now, normally that wouldn’t be that big of a deal, but since I’ve been pregnant, I pretty much eat about every 2-3 hours. Somehow on Saturday I never got really hungry after breakfast/brunch–but I did get grouchy. I see that now in hindsight. But perhaps I should take a lesson from this–pregnant Ginger needs to eat more often than twice a day.
  3. Sunday, I was dumb and grouchy, which resulted in a fight with N.C. This sucks because we rarely fight, and I pretty much always hate it, particularly when it’s spurred by me being dumb and grouchy instead of a real reason. We generally manage to make our fights into something productive by the end, but frankly, I’d rather we just not if possible.
  4. Because I’m lazy/combined with the fight, I didn’t get around to ANY of the stuff I was going to do on Sunday–no blog updates, no baby research, no insurance information, no looking into new cell phones, no grocery shopping, no new shoes (my feet no longer fit in any of my shoes), not one single productive thing.

Luckily, it seems like the week is starting out better–if I can just keep from being dumb anymore this week, I think everything will work out. But damn if being stupid can’t ruin a good weekend.

P.S. If you haven’t already given me your opinion–I’ve got a little poll going on my last post about the future of this blog…I’d love to hear your input!

Oh, yeah, and as always, you can find more lists over at abdpbt:

Sorry to hear about your weekend. Is it possible it was all pregnancy-related? Preg brain can do bad things to a gal, I hear.

Second that–it’s pregnancy brain! I got very very stupid when I was pregnant, I cannot remember what the official explanation for this is, but it’s something that happens to many people.

Wasn’t it actually more my fault about the fight? One more reason you’re the best wife in the world for dealing with me all the time. =)
