The driving things remind me of one of my favorite George Carlin quotes, "Ever notice how everyone driving slower than you is a moron and everyone driving faster than you is a maniac?"

I must admit, I'm one of the morons. I probably drive 5-7 under the limit, but to be honest, it's started saving me gas. This summer I went from getting 350 miles per tank to well over 400. Helped out when gas was $3,792 per tank.

Touche Nilsa. :-)

Would it help my defense if I say that I'm using up an entire year's worth of vacation/sick/comp/floating holiday days (oh, yeah, we don't have sick days here), so this is my first extended time off in over a year? And I won't have another chance for another year?

No? ok, I'll work on being cheerier :-)

I don't understand why *some* bloggers who get a whole 9 days off from work get to ever be cranky in the whole month leading up to that time off. I mean, seriously! =)

Oh, there's no doubt that you've gotta slow way down on the speed bump thing, but I'm talking dead complete stop. If you've got a car that may bottom out maybe (Elizabeth, you get a pass just cuz I like you!), but suv's? F150s? No, no stopping for you. You've got no excuse.

I do remember this one place I used to live that had those big wide speed bumps, but hadn't put up signs or painted them or anything, so of course I (and everyone else) went barreling over that thing at like 50. It felt a little like flying in turbulence. That sucked.

I am totally with you on Grey's. I guess I'm still watching it at this point because I want to see how big of a train wreck it'll end up being. It's so sad. It used to be pretty good.

What I don't understand even more is people who completely ignore speed bumps and BUMP signs and barrel right through them as though they don't exist. Even in an SUV that can't be too good on the shocks. I wish more Vegas drivers actually slowed down for that stuff.

Oh, and I am working on the getting to bed before midnight thing, too. Having xmas on the east coast should reset me like it did last year when I was ready for bed at 10 once we got back here. That is one good thing about traveling 2500 miles I guess!
