Today is November 4th

in Celebrations, Random

I’ve tried 5 times to write a post today. I’ve tried to encourage others to go vote. I’ve tried to sum up my feelings about this particular election. I’ve tried to lay out my feelings of civic pride, and the way that I get a little choked up in these moments where we as a nation give a crap instead of being apathetic. I’ve tried to talk about my sense of the historic elements of this election. I’ve tried to write about my frustrations with those on the other side of some of the things I believe in.

I can’t do it though.

Maybe because I’m spent. Maybe because everyone else has already articulated everything else I think. Or maybe it’s just because I’m too distracted by the tv, twitter, cnn.com, blogs, and my google reader. I can’t do a non-political post, not today…but I’m without the words or brain power for a political post.

So instead, I’m going to go watch the results with my husband and friend (we’re a bi-partisan house tonight–proof that the world doesn’t end if Obama and McCain supporters share the same space), and hopefully celebrate later tonight when two races in particular are called.

I hope you voted (or are on your way to do so). I hope you thought through your choices. I hope that when we wake up tomorrow, the world will go back to normal…at the same time that it changes.

I know, hubs just has a headache with his worries and upsetness, wondering what will be tomorrow. May we all find peace with whatever happens. 🙂

Go Prop 8:-) I can’t wait for 8:00 so we can see how things are going.
