Yes, I’m joining the ranks of people who have their own blogs. Woohoo, aren’t I special?
Well, backup a sec…let me rephrase. I’m joining the ranks of people who have public, open to the whole internet blogs. I’ve had a private blog for several years now–for a lot of reasons, I kept it private and open only to a few. And I’ll be bringing some of those posts over here–the ones that I’m not totally embarrassed by anyway (anything dated prior to August 20, 2008 will be archives from that blog). But it’s time to venture out into the “real world” of blogging.
I don’t have any grand thoughts that this is going to make me famous, or rich, or that anyone will 1) care 2) be remotely interested in what I have to say or 3) even read this.
But I have to do this, for me. I’ve got to have something for me. Something that I can tend and nurture and grow. Something that I have to take responsibility for, make a commitment to. Something to build, of my own. My own little corner of the world to make mine. Something that makes me visible to the rest of the world.
I hope to see some readers to this blog over time. I hope that I am able to express my thoughts well enough to keep anyone interested who might stop by. I hope that people will forgive my spelling and grammar errors…and my less than polished writing style…and my overwhelming love for ellipses (…) and dashes (–).
But even if no one ever reads this, it’s time to venture out from that private world and into the public one.
Hello internet–nice to meet you!
